Swamy challenges the foundations of the BJP government, from wild allegations to a dismissal of India’s economic data.
BJP leader and former union minister Subramanian Swamy joins Abhinandan Sekhri for an interview that repeatedly crosses into territory we can’t fully broadcast – several portions had to be bleeped out.
The former law minister trains his guns on the highest offices in the country, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri of an Epstein connection.
The conversation veers into personal territory, with Swamy making wild allegations about the prime minister’s private life and conduct.
The interview also dives into the mystery of Swamy’s own “invincibility”. While others face FIRs for criticism, Swamy has remained largely untouched. He suggests his understanding of the law makes him a difficult target. “Maybe they also know that I don’t need a lawyer.”
Swamy also delivers a critique of the BJP government’s core pillars. He dismisses official GDP figures as “all bogus,” claiming that officials sign off on wrong data out of fear, and labels the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative as “junk”. On diplomacy, he calls the PM a “born coward” for his handling of the India-US trade deal, insisting that Americans respect those who stand up for themselves.
Swamy describes a relationship in which the Sangh too has become dependent on the levers of state power to challenge the Modi government.
