Congratulations, mitron! Newslaundry has successfully completed 5,000 days and your favourite TV Newsance completed 3,090 days! By the way, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also completed 4,399 “uninterrupted days” in power, surpassing his biggest opponent and “ex-longest” PM Nehru. You know what that means.

TV News was in full celebration mode. This week, we watched anchors celebrate records, decode Modi's greatness, and explain why 4,399 days in power is a historic record, transformational, incredible, visionary, influential, and probably responsible for good weather too.

But wait… Wasn't Jawaharlal Nehru in power longer? Didn't Indira Gandhi also cross the 5,000-day mark? Well, yes. And no. And yes again.

This episode dives into the fascinating mathematics of political record-keeping, where the answer depends entirely on which years you decide to count.

Meanwhile, ministers, including the education minister, performed poojas, bhajans, jagratas and thanksgiving ceremonies for the PM's long life and tenure, while students were still waiting for justice over exam leaks.
