The court’s order came on a plea filed by Fatima Nafees, Najeeb’s mother after the Delhi police said it has no objection with such a direction. A bench of Justice GS Sistani and Rekha Palli transferred the matter to the CBI which will be taken up next on July 17.

The 27-year-old Msc Biotechnology student had gone missing allegedly a day after an altercation with some ABVP students, the students wing of RSS, on the night of October 16, 2016. However, the ABVP activists in JNU has denied any involvement in his disappearance.
