Like any online publisher or news website, Newslaundry uses analytics platforms and social media plugin to help us understand what content works best and how to optimize its distribution.

In addition, we also use a tool called Mix Panel. It tracks user behaviour and interaction on our website and provides tools for targetted communication with users on the Newslaundry website. It collects information like name, email address, region, OS and browser type.

While Newslaundry is neither responsible nor controls how other platforms and tools treat the data they collect, we ensure the tools we use and employ, guarantee the highest privacy standards. Changes to this Privacy Policy

Newslaundry may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time, at its sole discretion. Use of information we collect now is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is used. If we make changes to the Privacy Policy, we will notify you by posting an announcement on the Newslaundry website so you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances if any, it is disclosed.

Conditions of Use

PAYMENT POLICY

This page provides the terms of sale and purchase for the digital subscriptions offered by Newslaundry.com ("Newslaundry" or "we" or "us").

  1. GENERAL TERMS OF SALE

1.1. About Digital Products

You are not required to purchase anything for certain limited use of Newslaundry.com or the Newslaundry apps.

You can review the various Newslaundry digital subscriptions here.

Newslaundry reserves the right to modify the terms, content, type, and availability of any digital subscription at any time.

1.2. Processing and Payment

Newslaundry will process your purchase as promptly as possible. There may be a delay in the activation of your digital subscription while payment details are verified.

We accept major credit cards and PayPal. We reserve the right to reject any order or purchase at any time.

If your initial payment authorisation is later revoked, your digital subscription will be terminated. Contact our Customer Care if you believe your access was terminated in error.

1.3. Pricing

When you pay for a digital subscription, you agree to pay the price that is set for that particular digital subscription. You also agree to the billing frequency stated at the time of your order.

Discount eligibility is determined at the time of the order. Discounts cannot be applied retroactively.

All prices are in Indian Rupees and United States Dollars, unless otherwise stated.

Newslaundry reserves the right to change prices and fees at any time. We will notify you in advance if the regular rate of a digital subscription changes from what was stated originally. You will have the opportunity to accept the new price or cancel your digital subscription from that point forward.

Applicable taxes may vary. We are not able to notify you in advance of changes in applicable taxes.

1.4. Billing

 

1.4.1. Billing of Digital Subscriptions

We will charge or debit your payment method at the beginning of your subscription. Billing will continue according to the cycle stated at the time of your order.

All Newslaundry digital subscriptions via Paypal are renewed automatically. When we renew your subscription, we will use the payment method currently associated with your account.

If you are making a payment through PayPal there may be $1 charged to your card. This small charge is used by PayPal to verify you. This charge is refunded within 30 days and should reflect as a credit on your monthly statement. You will receive an email with the details about the services.

1.4.2. Currency

The currency in which you will be billed will be stated during the purchase process and is determined based on your billing address.

1.5. Unpaid Charges

If your credit card expires or your payment method is otherwise invalid, your digital subscription will not automatically be terminated. You will remain responsible for all charges.

1.6. Promotions

We may occasionally offer promotions. The specific terms of each promotion are stated at the time the promotion is offered. Each promotion may be different. Promotions cannot be combined.

2.1. Cancellation and Refunds of Digital Subscriptions

You can change or cancel your digital subscription at any time by emailing us at contact@www.newslaundry.com.

Monthly Subscription

When you cancel a subscription based on a monthly or 4-week cycle, you cancel only future charges associated with your subscription. You may notify us of your intent to cancel at any time, but the cancellation will become effective at the end of your current billing period.

Cancellations are effective from the following billing cycle. You will not receive a refund for the current billing cycle. You will continue to have the same access and benefits of your product for the remainder of the current billing period.

We reserve the right to issue refunds or credits at our sole discretion. If we issue a refund or credit, we are under no obligation to issue the same or similar refund in the future.

Annual Subscription

If you cancel an annual subscription within the first 11 months of your subscription year, your subscription will end immediately and you will receive a refund prorated to the day.

If you cancel in the final 30 days of your subscription year, the cancellation will not take effect until the end of your current billing period. Your subscription will continue to the end of the current billing period, and you will not receive a refund.

We reserve the right to issue refunds or credits at our sole discretion. If we issue a refund or credit, we are under no obligation to issue the same or similar refund in the future.

Changes to Content or Access

We reserve the right to make changes to our digital subscriptions at any time. If we temporarily reduce or eliminate the charge for content or access that you are currently paying for under different terms, you will not receive a refunds

A: Currently, to comment all you need is a Disqus account. Certain content may be exclusively accessible to our subscribers. In this case, subscriber will be provided with a login Id and password. All such developments will be publicised on our website.
