On February 15, nearly 12 Kashmiri students studying in Dehradun were roughed up by members of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Times of India reported. The attacks on the students come in the wake of a terror attack in Pulwama where more than 40 CRPF personnel lost their lives.

ContributeNasir Khuehami, spokesperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Students’ Organisation (JKSO), confirmed the attack. He told Newslaundry that the students were coming back from namaz prayers on Friday when the incident took place. The students have returned to Kashmir in the meanwhile, Khuehami added.
Vikas Verma, convenor, Bajrang Dal, when queried about the incident, did not deny the attack, the TOI report stated. “We will ensure that no Kashmiri Muslim studies or stays here,” he was quoted as saying.
Nivedita Kukreti, SSP Dehradun, was quoted as saying that police force has been put on alert and personnel have been deployed outside various institutions across the city.
