Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar visited a Border Security Force (BSF) camp in Jammu on Tuesday to pay tribute to soldiers killed in the ongoing cross border firing with Pakistan.
Addressing the jawans, Kumar told them that while he was simply a “reel hero”, a soldier is “the real hero”.
Apart from these uplifting words, Kumar also offered some sage geopolitical advice, when asked about the on-going hostility in India-Pakistan relations.
Kumar also shared a novel idea which will allow Indians to “help our armed forces”.
Kumar has done his part when it comes to aiding the army; recently, he donated Rs 9 lakh to the family of a slain BSF soldier, days after an earlier donation of Rs 80 lakh to the army. While his generosity is indeed inspiring and exemplary, the idea that an app could be used to “help” the armed forces seems a tad puzzling.
In the absence of any specifics, Kumar’s suggestion, though well intentioned, left us feeling a bit like this.
