Two days after AIADMK mouthpiece Namadhu MGR accused the Modi government of breaking the party into three factions and getting the party’s two-leaves symbol frozen, its editor Marudhu Alaguraj was asked to go on leave. He was given no reason for this decision, according to The Times of India.

The News Minute reported that Alaguraj had written a poem under his pen name Chitraguptan, called ‘Kavi Adi, Kazhagathi Azhi’ (paint saffron, destroy AIADMK) spoke about the failures of the BJP leadership. “It further accused the Centre of using governors as political agents and law enforcement agencies as weapons,” the report said.

“The editor was asked to go on leave on Monday. The direction was issued by way of a telephone call by Jayalalithaa’s erstwhile manager Poongundran. It looks like the family has struck a compromise with the BJP leadership,” insider told the Times of India.
AIADMK-Amma deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran  stated that the management of the paper, was now under the control of Sasikala’s nephew Vivek, who had reportedly noticed the “black sheep” that brought the party a bad name.
