Republic TV’s primetime on the Aarushi-Hemraj murder case is proof if one was needed.
The Allahabad High Court acquitted Rajesh and Nupur Talwar in the murder of their daughter Aarushi and their domestic help Hemraj in 2008. The court gave Talwars the “benefit of doubt” and ordered that the two be immediately released owing to the fact that the circumstantial evidence against them was inconclusive. This, however, was of no import to Republic TV Commander-in-Chief Arnab Goswami. His 45-minute debate was a serious #RIPJournalism moment with constant insinuations and zero care for balance or journalistic enquiry. Excerpts.
