Senior AAP leader and Delhi convener Gopal Rai has made sensational allegations against Kumar Vishwas. Rai in a Facebook Live session alleged that Vishwas was at the centre of a conspiracy to topple the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi. The allegations come a day after the poet-politician was denied a Rajya Sabha ticket by the party.
Rai claimed that right before the civic body polls in Delhi, there were attempts to dismantle the AAP. “Kumar Vishwas was at the centre of the conspiracy to topple the AAP government… Majority of these meetings were organised at Kumar Vishwas’ house,” Rai accused.
The AAP leader maintained that they didn’t want to make these issues public, while clarifying why Vishwas’ name was not sent for Rajya Sabha nominations.
As Kapil Mishra was the face of the attempt to topple the government, he was sacked from his posts in the party and the government, Raid said. He added that Vishwas was asked to clarify the issue. However, the poet-politician had then assured everyone that he was with the AAP.
The Delhi minister alleged that despite his assurances, Vishwas continued to attack the party on every platform possible.
Rai said he had fought with the party to ensure that he got a chance to address workers at AAP’s national summit, in Ramlila Maidan.
“When he was given an opportunity, instead of speaking against the Congress and BJP, he attacked Arvind Kejriwal and AAP,” Rai claimed. “This was his last chance but he continued to attack the party. We don’t know on whose direction he was doing so.”
Rai labelled Vishwas’ viral video message as an attack on Kejriwal. He said the first name to be cleared for the Rajya Sabha by the party was that of Vishwas, however, his actions later proved that he would only damage AAP’s prospects.
