It’s official now. Tamil Nadu actor Kamal Haasan will soon announce the name of his political party.

After months of deliberations and meetings with an array of political leaders from different parties, Haasan has said that he will be embarking on a state-wide tour from February 21.

According to reports, Haasan will reveal the name of his party and driving principles at the beginning of his tour. “At the commencement of the journey, I intend to announce the name of my political party along with the guiding principles we intend to live by,” Haasan said on Tuesday.

Haasan, in his statement, has said that his journey across Tamil Nadu is intended “to truly understand the needs of my people, what is afflicting them and what their aspirations are.” He added, “Further, this momentous journey of meeting people across Tamil Nadu is neither an act of rebellion nor is it a gathering for glamour; this is a journey of discovery and learning and an opportunity for me to truly understand my people.”

He will launch his political tour from his hometown, Ramanathapuram, and will proceed to various districts of Madurai, Dindigul and Sivagangai.
