Dhananjay Desai, Hindu Rashtra Sena chief and accused in the Mohsin Shaikh murder case, was seen taking part in a rally in Pune on February 9. His participation was seen as a violation of his bail conditions by the Pune Police who are planning to approach the Court with an appeal to cancel his bail. Desai was released on bail on Saturday from Pune’s Yerwada jail.
In a video, the HRS chief can be seen rallying along with his supporters who are shouting slogans and disrupting traffic. Desai was seen waving his hands from the sunroof of his car.
K Venkatesham, Commissioner of Police, Pune, told Newslaundry, “We are going to explore the option of approaching the Court with an appeal to cancel Desai’s bail.”
Milind Pawar, Desai’s lawyer, said, “He has not violated any undertaking given to the High Court. His supporters went to jail to welcome him after his release. After he came out he boarded his car and left for his home. What can he do if his supporters follow him. He has not violated any conditions of bail.”
