Filed by P Sasi, CPI(M) leader and president of People’s Law Foundation, the complaint alleges that Goswami had termed Keralites “shameless people” during a debate. The debate being referred to was published on August 26. The topic of the debate was the central government preventing the UAE government’s aid offer for Kerala flood relief.
“This group is shameless, is the most shameless bunch of Indians I have ever seen, they have gone around spreading the lie religiously. I don’t know what they get for it. Whether they get paid for it? Do they get paid money for abusing their own country? Are they part of a group, who are they funded by? Point is it is a conspiracy to malign India,” Goswami can be heard saying.
The complaint was filed alleging that these statements insulted and humiliated Keralites, Live Law reported. The court has directed Goswami to appear on June 20.
