On August 13, Rajkishor, a journalist with ABP News, tweeted out a video. The journalist stated that the video showed the “inside story” of how an ABP Ganga journalist was heckled by a “Congress goon”. The journalist said the reporter, Nitish Pandey, repeatedly called out to ⁦Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for her attention. The latter was visiting the families of the Sonbhadra massacre victims and the reporter was asking for her thoughts on the Indian government’s decision to scrap Article 370.

In the video, one voice can be heard saying, “Thok ke yahi baja dunga, maarunga toh yahi gir jaoge (I’ll thrash you, if I beat you, you’ll fall right here)”, while the reporter can be heard saying, “Priyankaji samne dekhiye, ye camera pe dhakka mara ja raha hai. Apke saamne apke karyakarta camera pe dhkka mara ja raha hai (Priyankaji, look here, the camera is being pushed. A Congress worker is doing this in front of you.)” The Congress worker, who is identified as Sandip in the video, can also be seen slapping the reporter and accusing him of being paid by the BJP to ask questions.

ABP News‘ Sumit Awasthi also discussed “Congress leaders’ bullying” during one of his shows.
