The News Broadcasters Federation, an association of 78 news channels in 14 languages, Tuesday condemned the attacks on mediapersons covering the tractor rally held by farmers to protest against the new farm laws.

It noted that "at least four broadcast journalists working for NewsX and India News were threatened and attacked" by the protesters. Aishwarya Jain was held by the collar at the Red Fort and allegedly "physically hit and made to leave the spot”. Ajit Shrivastava was hit with sticks at Nangloi. Priya Singh and Aditya Nair were threatened and told to leave while reporting at Red Fort.

In a statement, the federation’s secretary general, RJ Krishna, called "upon the authorities to immediately initiate strict action against the perpetrators, and ensure safety and security of journalists covering on-ground news events". It added, "NBF strongly condemns any act of verbal or physical assault on journalists while during their professional duty in public interest."
