Neetu Singh of Gaon Connection wins Chameli Devi Jain Award

The 2020 Chameli Devi Jain Award for Outstanding Woman Mediaperson has been given to Neetu Singh, a Hindi journalist with the rural news platform Gaon Connection . Neetu, who is based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, covers rural women.

The award is given by the Media Foundation. Past recipients of the award, which recognises social concern, dedication, courage and compassion, include Neerja Chowdhury, Priyanka Dubey, Barkha Dutt, Supriya Sharma, Rohini Mohan, Arfa Khanum Sherwani.

Neetu was awarded at a function on Sunday. Her colleagues and fellow journalists took to twitter to congratulate her.
