Debangshu Bhattacharya wrote the lyrics to the party’s anthem Khela Hobe.
At a small tea shop on the way from Maynaguri to Jalpaiguri in Bengal, Manisha Pande caught up with the Trinamool Congress spokesman Debangshu Bhattacharya, who wrote the lyrics to the party’s latest anthem Khela Hobe.
Debangshu talks about the song, political violence in Bengal, Trinamool’s ideology, allegations of corruption against the incumbent party and of authoritarianism against its leader Mamata Banerjee.
Blaming the Left for the state’s “culture of political violence”, the spokesman says, “Didi believes in creating both shopping malls and small businesses.”
He also explains why he thinks the BJP is an outsider in Bengal.
