In Jaipur's Jhalana Doongri slum, the second wave of the pandemic has had a devastating impact on livelihoods. Newslaundry met three women – Kasni Devi, Basanti Devi and Ruby Sharma – who explained how the pandemic resulted in the loss of incomes. Even as they struggle to make ends meet, the women said that government welfare schemes such as pensions and ration distribution have not helped them much.
