Discharged in the CBI’s Delhi excise policy case, Arvind Kejriwal made his first public appearance on Sunday. He thanked the court and termed the verdict historic, alleging that the case had been initiated at the behest of Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Although the protest at Jantar Mantar had been scheduled earlier, the court’s decision prompted Kejriwal to personally join the demonstration.

In his address, he raised concerns about contractual workers, employees at Mohalla Clinics, and staff associated with DTC and DMITS, as well as other salaried workers. We spoke to several attendees at the rally. Among those present were Atishi, Sanjay Singh, Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal.

Meanwhile, the CBI has challenged the order in the trial court. However, celebrations within the Aam Aadmi Party continue.

Delhi resident Geeta Rawat said, “The BJP falsely accused former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for political gain and sent him to jail.”

Rajesh Kumar said, “After the BJP came to power, I lost my job. I have two children – one preparing for a competitive exam and the other studying in Dehradun. How am I supposed to pay his fees? I have no other source of income. Our service was meant to continue until March 31, but we were removed even before that.”
