Two days after Apollo Hospital and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) released the discharge summary and visitation reports of former Tamil Nadu (TN) Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, O Panneerselvam (OPS) remains defiant on initiating a probe into her death. On Wednesday morning at 10, OPS began his fast in Chennai’s Rajarathinam stadium along with many other leaders of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK).

Leaders seen alongside OPS are E Madhusudhanan, PH Pandian, C Ponnaiyan, Natham Viswanathan who go on a fast with OPS till 5 pm. Besides Chennai, leaders of the OPS camp are on a fast in various parts of the state. A sit-in strike is also being held at Kanchipuram led by Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament V Maitreyan. Though the reports released by Apollo and AIIMS reveal that OPS was kept in the loop in regards to Amma’s health condition, the OPS camp believe the reports released by the hospital could be doctored. In an offensive against Sasikala, OPS had promised to issue a judicial inquiry into the “mysterious” death of Amma.

While his main demand is her death be probed, he is also expected to make some revelations about Sasikala soon after he ends his fast at 5 pm
