‘We can hack around 2 lakh Indian website…this is just a trailer,’ claims Pakistani Hacker group PHC

Ten Indian educational websites were hacked today. Moments later, a Pakistan-based group, Pakistan Haxors Crew, in a Facebook post claimed that they were responsible. In an interview, the group said this was just the beginning.

Barely hours after websites of Delhi University, IIT Delhi, Aligarh Muslim University and seven other educational institutes were hacked by Pakistan Haxors Crew, Newslaundry had an exclusive conversation with them. A Times of India report from October last year had referred to them as ‘rookies’ and had credited them with 7,070 website hacks.

Today, they had only defaced 10 Indian websites.  The main pages of these sites were covered in text that stated “Greetings Government of India and the people of India” and claimed that “Kashmir will be Pakistan”. According to the Hindustan Times, these pages were restored by 6 pm.

Amit Bhardwaj spoke to one of the purported hackers online about Kashmir, Indian Hacker groups, and the country’s security.

Why did you only target Indian educational institutes?

Just because Indian hackers defaced our some important website(s). That’s why [sic]

Such as?

railway.gov.pk

And this was done by?

Mad-Code

Can you prove that you are the group responsible for these and the 2016 hacks?

Yes, you can Google us!

But can you share any concrete proof?

Recently, we hacked into Indian airline and played the national song. Also, around 7 thousand [Indian] websites were hacked by us.

Unlike most hacker groups that are apolitical, you are taking a very clear political stand. Why is that?

We [are] not motivated by any political party. We just [want to] warn Indian hackers that this is just a demo. We have access at (sic) Indian Registrar from where we can hack around 2 lakh Indian website[s] – which includes ac.in, edu.in, and res.in

This is just a trailer!

What do you gain out of these hacks?

We basically give them a reply that we are sleeping, but not dead

Security is just an illusion

You claim that the hacks were a response to hacking by Indian hackers, why are you invoking Kashmir?

We also want to give a clear message to Indian government and people of India

What is the message?

Killing many innocent people in Kashmir. Also, you can read out at deface page

Did you play the Kashmir card for attention?

No, we are not an attention seeker. But if anything goes wrong, we will take action against that act.

Do you have any political backing from the Pakistan government or any government agency?

No. Why would they support us?

Any political party at all?

No

Don’t you fear that these hacks could result in an increase in retaliation from Indian hackers?

We are ready for that.  If they deface our one website, they have to be ready for 100 defacements.

Is there anything about India that you like?

[not answered]

Do you envision peace and harmony between the two nations – India and Pakistan?

Yes, why not. There are few people because of which we have to do these kinds of attacks – as you know the famous singer Sonu Nigam’s tweet.

How large is your group and what is your average age?

We are teenagers.

ok, let’s end this here.

How young is the youngest?

Sorry, can’t tell. Security issues!

Just curious, what is the most secure communication platform?

Jabber

What do you think about our Prime Minister Narendra Modi?

Leave Bro.

End this conversation!
