The Congress failed to win a single seat in the 2015 Delhi election. Five years on, the party seems adrift. Newslaundry attended one of the grand old party’s campaign rallies in South Delhi’s Sangam Vihar and found it listless. Both Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were in attendance, yet there wasn’t much excitement and optimism, in stark contrast to the campaign events of AAP and the BJP.

Still, the Congress retains many loyal supporters, some of whom we spoke with at the rally. They explain what keeps them tethered to the party.

Watch.

Correction: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated that the Congress went into the 2015 Delhi election after 15 straight years in power. It had already lost power in 2013. The error is regretted.
