As India celebrates its 75th Independence Day, we bring you a very special TV Newsance episode: a brief history of television news in India.

We look at how it evolved from the black-and-white days of Doordarshan to the colourful and super noisy days of Arnab Goswami. Joining us are two special guests: Shammi Narang is a former DD anchor and ‘the voice of Delhi Metro’ and Madhu Trehan is a Newslaundry founder and veteran journalist who ushered in the video revolution in English TV news.
