Delhi has witnessed the cleanest July in the last one decade. What has changed this time?
While the improvement in air quality is mostly due to rainfall, the Delhi government has recently informed the Supreme Court about anti-pollution measures such as anti-smog guns, road sweeping machines, mist sprays, promotion of electric vehicles etc. Though the best time to check if these measures have improved air quality will be November and December when Delhi turns into a gas chamber. (See day-wise AQI of major cities and towns in India on Dataful here.)
For this episode, Newslaundry visited the Supreme Court where the AQI of the nearest monitoring station at ITO was 89 under the satisfactory category.
