I liked your Kashi and election stories and contributed to the NL Sena election project for the first time. I am from Assam and was very sad to see the assembly election discourse. The CM’s language has worsened. I wonder what is in store next.
Floods recently submerged large parts of Guwahati. One person died and nobody will take any responsibility as usual. I request NL to do a story on this issue. There is an Assamese flood expert at IIT Delhi who can contribute. I am happy to suggest names or help in any other capacity.

Hafta 584 ended on an interesting note. Abhinandan engagement-baiting all cricket lovers, himself being rage-baited by the quiet poise and articulation of Anand.
Always an Anand fan!

Hi NL Hafta team,
Writing in to say that your conversation on Hafta 581 on #MeToo and trans issues was really insightful.
Shardool recommended My Self Mona Ahmad, an incredibly intimate and powerful photo-book about a trans woman by Dayanita Singh. I first came across Mona’s images at an exhibition in Portugal a few years ago. I noticed the striking similarities between Mona Ahmad and Anjum, the main character in Arundhati Roy’s Ministry of Utmost Happiness – both living in a graveyard. I wonder if Mona Ahmad is the inspiration for Anjum?
I’ve been assigning the book to students in my visual anthropology and anthropology of gender courses as an excellent example of photographic ethnography and to discuss trans issues in South Asia (I’m a professor btw).
Keep up the good work!

Hi team,
Writing to Hafta for the first time.
I am sure you will discuss the delimitation bill, but I would also like to hear your thoughts on how it was covered in newspapers.
