While I am impressed with the rise of the CJP, I find it a bit disconcerting when some of their members try to diss MPs or MLAs who are not educated. Kamraj, one of the greatest chief ministers of Tamil Nadu, never completed his schooling. He was the architect of the mid-day meal scheme in Tamil Nadu. MGR enhanced the scheme by providing eggs. So to make education a benchmark for people in public life might make us lose a lot of people who can make a marked difference in people’s lives.

Listening to Manisha’s interview with teachers, it seems the new generation is more politically aware and not influenced by propaganda. But I think it applies to only a small percentage who are mostly English-speaking and digitally aware.
Talking to youngsters from other backgrounds, it seems the only solution to India’s problems is hate and violence.

Hi NL Team,
I just finished watching Sarthak’s interview with Manisha just now and I am compelled to write this mail. I was blown away by his clear mind and grit at his young age. He gave me immense hope for this generation that will shape our future, at a time when I have more or less given up on seeing any meaningful change.
I am grateful to NL for their very focused and detailed interview with him on what went wrong with the system, how he and his friends with expert support were able to dig up the errors, and the sheer carelessness of our system in acknowledging the same.
When he spoke about the freedom the internet gave him (or others) to speak up, I was impressed that in a space that is so often used to hate, belittle or bully each other, there are youngsters like him who have the potential to bring about positive change online.
My child is 7 and I am part of the medical fraternity. I have always told my husband I do not wish for her to follow in my footsteps. But Sarthak’s views truly gave me hope.
Kudos to Team NL. Just about six months into my membership, I am glad that I have completely quit “mainstream” media (the vitriol is stunning).

Bugs in podcast player after app updated!
I have been trying in vain to listen to NL Hafta on the app for the past two or three weeks after it updated. This is on an iPhone. I have tried everything, including uninstalling and reinstalling the app. But everytime I try to play the latest episode on the player, it will only play the same episode from three weeks ago (before the update). This is extremely annoying. Please suggest a fix.

Your latest iOS app update says “improved podcast player performance”. It has improved so much that when I click on Hafta, it plays Charcha. When I click on Charcha, it still plays Charcha. To listen to Hafta episodes, I have to open your webpage on a browser and do the login etc. UX gaya tel lene. Kindly fix it please.
